Aamir Khan: How he came to shake hands with Anthony Hopkins

Aamir Khan has been doing a commendable job in the showbiz world for the past two decades but post-2000 he has been instrumental in revolutionizing Bollywood cinema with cult films like Lagaan and Taare Zameen Par, to name a few.
Recently, he graced the prestigious Toronto Film festival where his wife Kiran Rao’s directorial debut ‘Dhobi Ghat’ (which also stars Aamir in the role of a painter) opened to a tremendous applause from the mob.
And Aamir bumped into Hollywood’s legendary icon Sir Anthony Hopkins. It was one of the few pleasant moments of Aamir’s life as he has an incredible amount of respect for Sir Hopkins who has starred in a plethora of cult films like ‘Hannibal’, ‘The Silence of the Lambs’, ‘Legends of the Fall’ and ‘The World’s Fastest Indian’.
Their rendezvous was a brief but an amiable affair as they shared their ideologies on cinema. Sir Hopkins even professed his desire to see ‘Dhobi Ghat’. Reports suggest that the two shook hands and looked absorbed in an animated conversation.
In short, it was a triumphant moment for the lovers of cinema as two icons from different corners of the planet crossed each others’ paths.
