Aamir Khan’s Peepli Live Opens Well At Box Office

The non-star cast Peepli Live has opened this week to a good response in the multiplexes, bringing cheer in the industry. Peepli Live, produced by Aamir Khan, is mainly for the multiplexes and the big cities and it will fetch very handsome returns from there. Although it will not work in many of the singlescreen cinemas and centres other than the big cities, its business will be A1 class since it has already recovered its cost from non-theatrical revenues. The Box Office Opening of Peepli Live was very good in the big cities and average elsewhere, considering that it has as good as nil face value.

The other Hindi release this week, Bobby Deol and Mugdha Godse’s Help could have done at least average business had it started off on a reasonable note, but its dull initial will not let the film reach even the average mark.

Maut Ke Saudagar (dubbed version of The Expendables), also released this Friday, may be good for lovers of action films but just about. The film will find the going at the box-office tough.

Last week’s release Aisha has not done too well and will entail losses. Total Rs. 8,56,64,447 from 263 cinemas. The first week collections of Predators (dubbed) were dull. Total 1,02,06,020 from 105 cinemas.Predators (English) was average. Total Rs. 1,19,51,389 from 101 cinemas.

Ajay Devgan and Emraan Hashmi’s Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai’s second week collections were very good. Total Rs. 8,95,22,591 from 337 cinemas.

Akshay Kumar’s Khatta Meeta totaled Rs. 67,76,199 from 157 cinemas in its third week at the box office.Tere Bin Laden 4th week Total Rs. 19,60,175 from 41 cinemas.
