Meanwhile, Aamir, at the 3 Idiots DVD launch, enthused about how everyone he met was looking forward to his Sallu’s forthcoming film. “The promotions have generated very strong buzz about Dabangg,” said Aamir [follow him on facebook]. SRK And Kareena’s ‘Ra. One’ To Release On June 3, 2011

August 31, 2010 (Sampurn Wire}: The much talked movie of Bollywood Ra One, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor, has finally announced its release date. The high budget sc-fi movie is scheduled to hit the theaters on June 3, 2011.

Anubhav Sinha has directed this movie in which SRK [follow him on facebook] turns superhero for the first time in his almost two decade long career in Bollywood.

Speaking about his character in the movie SRK said that his character is called G.One, who is made of solid electricity. G.One has entered this real world from a virtual one to combat against the evil force called Ra One.

It sounds like a total new avatar of Shah Rukh, who is usually seen romancing around the leading ladies with his charming nature. It is a great challenge to do some extraordinary stunts and tricks in such sci-fi movies. If the technology is not used properly, the whole project may get ruined.

Katrina kaif cry over Break up.

The drama has begun! We should have seen this coming! Katrina thought she was attending a press conference to talk about her new endorsement deal for Etihad Airways. Instead she found herself at the center of a Q&A session with snooping reporters who only wanted to know about her recent breakup with Salman!

According to The Times of India, Salman told reporters during a recent interview that he broke up with Katrina but that they are still friends. "I have broken up with Katrina. We were friends then for everybody, we are friends now. A relationship breaks if it gets stretched in different directions, or one person does not grow, or the other person takes a different path, or there is some misunderstanding or they have grown out of love," Sallu said.

And at the start of Kat's press conference for Etihad Airways everything went well, but soon the popular actress was overcome with emotions when asked about her personal life. "If Salman Khan has said he's single, I've also said I'm single. I am single. But beyond that I don't think I need to give too much of details," Kat said. "If Salman says we've split, it must be true," she added and walked out of the press conference shortly after.

Now the buzz is Katrina started to cry backstage and vowed to make changes to what reporters are allowed to ask during press conferences! "What happened was very, very disturbing. I had the entire congregation of media persons questioning me about a statement made by Salman. If for all these years I haven't spoken about the relationship, why should I do so now? I won't be bullied into talking about my personal life. I am going to take contractual action to ensure limits are not crossed at these events," Katrina said according to The Times of India.

"Whether it is my personal or public space, I've noticed I allow people to take too many liberties. From now on my personal life remains out of public eye. And those who wish to share a personal equation with me better respect that," she added.

Katrina Kaif walks ramp during Mumbai's Jewellery Week

Actress Katrina Kaif [follow her on facebook] walked the ramp at the inaugural session of India International Jewellery Week (IIJW) that started here on Sunday.

Kaif walked the ramp wearing a peach ruffled lehenga, a traditional ensemble with a small blouse and rich, flowing skirt, with a jewel-encrusted top created by fashion designer Neeta Lulla. The actress also sported chunky diamond jewellery that was based on the traditional seven-stone floral cluster design.

"I think Neeta Lulla is been in the industry for probably 25 years. She knows about her colours so I have a lot of trust for someone like her. I know what kind of look she wants to present. It doesn't come naturally to me, it's a thing like, what kind of bridal outfit do I want to wear. Probably, personally I would go for something really understated and really liked it," said Kaif.

The actress also unveiled a new bangle collection - the Divine Circles.

IIJW is India's first-ever Jewellery Week and would run till Thursday.

The extravaganza will showcase the collections of 30 designers, including Farah Khan Ali, Varun D Jani, Bina Goenka and Rhea Nasta. Well-known jewellery brands like Mirari, Gitanjali, Amrapali, Tanishq and Ganjam are also participating.

Buyers from Japan, Russia, Britain, China, Italy, Malaysia, Libya, Morocco, Iran, the Czech Republic, Poland, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan are also expected to attend the event.

Salman Khan's Dabangg gets U/A certificate from Censor Board

The Salman Khan [follow him on facebook] - Sonakshi Sinha starrer Dabangg, which is produced by Arbaaz Khan, has received an U/A certificate from the Censor Board.

Arbaaz wrote on his Twitter, "The censors give Dabangg UA certificate without any cuts. That means we get to release the film without any changes. Yippeeeeeeeee!!!"

This is Arbaaz's debut film as a producer. The movie also stars Dimple Kapadia, Vinod Khanna, Mahie Gill, Arbaaz Khan, Sonu Sood, Om Puri, Mahesh Manjrekar, Anupam Kher and Tinu Anand and is slated to release on 10 September.

Manmohan Singh to watch Aamir Khan's Peepli Live tomorrow

Quite to the surprise of many, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will be spending Sunday watching Aamir Khan’s Peepli Live. And it is not just the PM. Joining him will be his family, close friends and even some senior officials at the Prime Minister’s Office.

Sources in the government are somewhat surprised by Singh’s choice of film, because the movie had high-lighted the price rises of basic commodities in the country. A song in the film was even used by the PM’s opponents in rallies held across the country. (It’s a different matter altogether that Aamir Khan never gave permission to the BJP for using the song Mehngai dayan khay jaat hai.)

It is believed that sports minister M S Gill suggested the idea to the PM. Gill served as an IAS officer in Madhya Pradesh, and recommended the movie since it is supposedly based on true stories of farmers in the state.

Singh is not exactly a movie buff. This will only be his fourth film in his last seven years in office.

According to the sources, this will be Singh’s second Aamir produced film; the first being Tare Zameen Par. Compared to him, BJP leaders Atal Behari Vajpayee and LK Advani were bigger movie fans.

In fact, Aamir Khan has in the past specially arranged screenings of his films for Advani.

Among the little that he has watched, one of Singh’s favourites is Shah Rukh Khan’s Veer Zara, a Yash Raj film which was about a love story between an Indian and a Pakistani.

Peepli Live, however, deals with a more politically sensitive issue, that of farmer suicides. And the film has also been one of the most discussed topics during the present monsoon session in the Parliament.

Deepika’s craze for Shahrukh

Deepika quips, "While Shah Rukh was talking, all I did was sit and listen. This always happens to me! Every time I think I'm going to meet him I feel I have so much to say. Then I take one look at him and blank out!"

Well, King Khan is one of the finest actors of Bollywood and we can understand Deepika’s feeling.

SRK has said that the film promos and songs are looking interesting and he is keen to watch the movie along with family. King Khan said that he watched Lafange Parindey last week and eager to watch the film after exams of his kids are over. Arbaaz Khan Productions' Dabangg is slated to release on September 10. Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter Sonakshi Sinha has been making Bollywood debut with the film. Malaika Arora’s item number ‘Munni Badnam Huyee’ has already topped the chartbusters.

Katrina's Desi Barbie doll to be launched Worldwide

Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif [follow her on facebook] has enough international appeal to charm the viewers and now the ‘Desi Barbie’ inspired by the actress will just be an added factor to it as the doll is now ready to get a worldwide launch. Till now, the Katrina Kaif doll was enclosed at a Barbie museum in the US. Now, the makers have decided to market the doll all over the world from this December. There is a plan of a global launch of the doll. But at this moment, neither the people related to this Barbie nor Katrina is allowed to open their mouth about it.

However, as per the information from a reliable source, on Wednesday, a representative of the company has reached Mumbai to discuss about it and has taken the face shots of Katrina for developing the Barbie model. These dolls would be given the exact look of the actress and will be offered in a box carrying her description.

A source has informed that Katrina was in strong support of marketing the dolls in India first. The actress wanted to expand her ‘Barbie’ image with the help of this doll. However, the dolls will not now have a worldwide launch by this year-end. Initially, the makers wanted the doll to be dressed in only western attire but on Katrina’s insistence they also included the Indian attires like sarees and salwar-kameezes.

The source informed that the selection of clothes and accessories for the doll is being done by Katrina personally.

Aamir game for production of regional cinema

A day after Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan [follow him on facebook] backed the demand of prime slots for Marathi movies in multiplexes, actor Aamir Khan [follow him on facebook] too has come out supporting regional cinema.

"In between there was a break as I was travelling and unwell too...the (learning) process will continue. I will be happy to produce Marathi movies. The story and script should touch me. The language is not important," Aamir told reporters at the DVD launch ''3Idiots'' here today.

"Our languages are the most beautiful part of our culture, he said expressing his readiness to venture into production of regional cinema. Language comes secondary," he added.

When asked about his friend Salman Khan''s upcoming release ''Dabbang'', Aamir said the promos of the film look very exciting.

"Many of my friends are calling me asking me to speak to Salman to arrange for a trial show before the release," he said.

He said his wife Kiran Rao''s directorial debut, ''Dhobi Ghat'' would be premiered in Toranto Film Festival.

On the theatrical release of the movie back home, he said the date is yet to be finalised but would be some time early next year.

Salman Khan finds Ranbir Kapoor ‘talented’

Supriya Pathak, Shahid Kapoor's step mother has written an emotional letter to the Bollywood Badshah.

She and her team of the popular television series Khichdi have a unique wish. This is the first TV series, which is being made into a feature film, and Supriya and her fellow-actors want to seek the blessings of none other than superstar Shah Rukh Khan [ follow him on facebook ]. Director wants Aamir to slash fee

Kundan Shah, whose path-breaking comic caper Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron is still considered a benchmark for black comedy in Hindi cinema, is finally ready to dish out another of its kind, titled Tycoon.

Kundan is certain that he wants Aamir Khan [follow him on facebook] in the film but he has a strange condition: the entire film to be made within a budget of Rs 5 crore.

The film itself is a tantalising bait for Aamir, but word is that he wants it to be like any other of his films – and to be paid his normal fee.

Kundan Shah has been seen visiting Aamir on several occasions in recent times, apparently to discuss the script. "Yes, I've been in talks with Aamir for a comedy entitled Tycoon. It's in the same genre as Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron.

But it's also got very pronounced elements of romance. It's largely an experimental film,"confirmed Kundan.

For some reason, the director can't see Tycoon being feasible as a big-budget extravaganza. "I want to make it at a budget of Rs 5 crore, and that would include Aamir's fee. If I have to pay Aamir his market price, my film would become 3 Idiots. That isn't what I have in mind," said Kundan.

So will he or won't he? Though there's no official confirmation yet, the buzz is that Aamir might be coming around to Kundan's point of view. For the record, Kundan Shah also made one of Shah Rukh Khan's film, Kabhi Haan.

Lara all set to impress Shahrukh Khan

Lara Dutta seems to be all set to impress King Khan, after all who doesn’t want to be in good books of Shahrukh. Actually, the actress is the new entrant in the sequel of Farhan Akhtars’ Don which has SRK and Priyanka Chopra in the lead role. So, the gorgeous actress is leaving no stone unturned to match up with the style which the movie demands off. She is nowadays experimenting with her looks with Farhan who will eventually take the final call.

Before you jump to conclusions, let’s clarify that Czar is the two-year-old son of director Farah Khanwho’s directing Katrina in her upcoming film Tees Maar Khan.

We hear that Farah often brings her triplets - Czar, Anya and Diva - to the film’s sets. Of the three, Czar has been getting quite up close and personal with Katrina. One day when Katrina offered him her cheek for kiss, the naughty tot planted a kiss on her lips.

Not just that, according to Farah Khan, the very next day when Czar revisited the sets, he called Katrina over to him with a gesture and kissed her again on the lips.

Funnily, whenever Farah Khan kisses Czar on the lips, he wipes off the kiss. But he did nothing of the sort after kissing Katrina.

Shah Rukh lends his 'Robot' to Shankar

It’s so sweet. Shah Rukh Khan had parted ways with Shankar the director on a not-very-nice note. The title of Shankar’s film, to make things worse, was registered with SRK’s company, Red Chillies, which was then meant to produce Robot, the latest Rajnikant-Ash starrer. However when Shankar requested Khan to release the title of the flick to avoid any legal glitches, the superstar had no second thoughts. All bad vibes were dissipated with this kind gesture.

It can be recalled that Shah Rukh Khan and Shankar got together to make Robot, a project which was extremely close to both their hearts. Both of them worked on the script for months before they began squabbling over creative differences. SRK refused to do the film and announced to the world that he was no longer associated with Robot. This was two years ago, just prior to the release of Om Shanti Om. Shankar went ahead and made the film with Rajnikant and Aishwarya Rai. SRK though always wanted to do a superhero film; so he is now making Ra.One. Both the films have similarities. However when Shankar decided that he wants the title Robot for its Hindi version, he wrote a letter to SRK requesting him to part with the title.

When contacted Shankar said, “It is very nice of Shah Rukh to give us the title. It was registered with him company Red Chillies.”

Ranbir Kapoor cheated on Deepika Padukone?

The relationship between Ranbir Kapoor [follow Ranbir on facebook] and Deepika Padukone is well over and done with, obituary written and burial prayer said. But what was the reason of the split between the two. The rumour has been that Ranbir’s growing liking for Katrina Kaif let the axe fall. She says she wants to keep her personal life “very, very personal”.

Pattinson & Kristen Stewart -- Cops to the Rescue

Robert Pattinson [follow Robert on facebook] and Kristen Stewart finally had a moment to themselves the other day -- thanks to the actions of some quick thinking cops.

Sources involved in the situation tell us Rob and Kristen were on their way home from LAX airport earlier this week -- when they noticed several paparazzi weaving through traffic to keep up.

We're told ... the couple -- concerned for their safety -- ducked into a nearby police station, hoping the cops could help out.

We're told the officers figured out a way to sneak the "Twilight" stars out of the building ... and they were able to get back on the road ... without the paps on their tail.

Aamir Khan visited Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia

New Delhi, Aug 21 (Calcutta Tube) Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan [follow Aamir khan on facebook], who was in Australia for the screening of his film ‘Peepli Live’, made the best of his stay by visiting the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground and the National Sports Museum there.

Aamir, who is huge a cricket fan, spent time admiring Sunil Gavaskar’s Test cap and signed bat, a full-sized statue of Don Bradman and the legendary cricketer’s original ‘baggy green’ cap, and watched the lifelike hologram of Shane Warne at the museum.

‘I’m such a huge cricket fan and I was looking at the statue of Don Bradman and I was like, ‘I have to come back here and watch a match here’,’ Aamir said in a statement.

Aamir, whose production venture ‘Peepli Live’ was premiered at the Melbourne International Film Festival, also enjoyed a lunch with former Australian cricketer Damien Fleming at the ground.

On children being naughty, SRK wrote, “now to serious business .studies (no say my kids) dinner (later say kids) sleep (no chance say kids) will get one yes out of them at least.”

Katrina Kaif as Brand Ambassador of Etihad Airways

According to the reports, actress Katrina Kaif [follow Katrina kaif on facebook] has been selected as a brand ambassador of Etihad Airways, the national airline of United Arab Emirates. The official announcement will be madi in Mumbai in the presence of Etihad Airways vice president, Andrew Ward.

Etihad Airways is one in the computation of luxury airline segment, Etihad has established in the year 2003. Etihad Airways operates daily 147 flights to 64 destinations in 42 countries.

The Etihad Airways officials says, “With a vision to be a truly 21st century global airline, the association with Katrina Kaif will further symbolize Etihad Airways` brand attributes, showcasing young, premium and fresh approach to service in the air and on the ground,”.

The 24-years-old, actress is one of the top actresses in Bollywood. Katrina Kaif is currently busy in filming Farah Khan’s, Tees Maar Khan’ with Akshay Kumar, which is set to be released on December 24th 2010. She has also signed for the film with Yash Raj Films.

I am not Mr Perfectionist: Aamir Khan

Mr Perfectionist' is a tag that has always been associated with Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan [follow Aamir Khan on facebook] but the actor-producer says that he only tries to do work that he believes in.

"I don't see myself as a perfectionist. I don't think anyone is perfect and anyone can be. I am someone who enjoys doing what I am doing and I do it with lot of love and passion," Khan told PTI in an interview during his recent visit to Melbourne Film Festival 2010.

The actor, who worked hard on his body for an eight-pack look in Ghajini only to lose those muscles for a plump look in '3 Idiots', is also averse to being called a methodical actor.

"I don't know if being called as methodical is the right word to describe me. Each time I approach the material in a new way. So there is not one method for me, I m not a trained actor, so I don't know what method acting is," Khan said.

His films Laagan, Taare Zameen Par, 3 Idiots, and now Peepli Live have all made it big at the box office around the globe and he attributes his success to a talented team."I ve been successful in my career and I m grateful but you have to remember film making is a collective art form and all the films I have done and have been successful are not a result of me alone. They are result of a lot of talented people coming together and doing a good work."

His latest production stars a motley of theatre actors and depicts the growing rural and urban divide in India, but Khan says he does not think about awards while working on a movie."I never have Oscar or any other awards ceremony in my mind when I m doing my film. I believe that I make my films for my audience and for myself and in the process if my film does get selected to the platform which showcases the film to an audience which does not get to see Indian films then thats great," Khan said.

On the query if he was trying to change the landscape for Bollywood by his meaningful cinema, Khan says he invests his energies into good movies. "I have been working in film industry for more than two decades and I am sure I have my energies into it. I found that in past 20 years, from that time till now. I am swimming against tide and I'm glad that I have certain amount of success in that. But I am not doing films to change anything," Khan said.

As far as naming his lady luck goes, he says,"Kiran and I have been working together for more than 4 years and she has helped me produce films like Taare Zameen Par,Jaane tu ya Jaane Na and now Peepli Live '. She has contributed towards my success and she is someone who I regard and respect highly," Khan said.

‘Ra. One’ to be sold for Rs. 175 crores?

The latest buzz doing the rounds in Bollywood is regarding the exhorbitant price being quoted for Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film ‘Ra. One.’ Reportedly, the price at the which the star’s home production has been pitched for release in India and abroad is said to be a whopping Rs.175 crore!

The movie is a superhero oriented sci-fi one and has already been in news for its rocketing costs. Hero Shah Rukh’s costume is rumored to be priced at Rs. 1 crore, while co-actors like Arjun Rampal and Kareena Kapoor too have been offered hefty pay cheques. International music star Akon is also said to be a part of the film. If the quoted is agreed upon, ‘Ra. One’ shall become the most expensive Bollywood film till date. ‘Kites’ holds the record currently, though the film failed both at the Indian and International arena.

Shah Rukh seems confident enough to bank on the outstanding response his previous film ‘My Name is Khan’ gathered from the audience, especially from the international viewers. The sci-fi with its super hero focus shall add to its appeal to all categories of audiences. The two big names considered for the bidding process are Eros International and Reliance Big Pictures.
